One of the main reasons for making so many different waxes is that many of the different products serve different functions.

Some people don’t want to do multiple steps, and thus a cleaner wax would do. Others may not need any cleaners and love that warm glow and shine of a carnauba on their car. If your car sits outside a lot, you’ll probably want a longer lasting protection like a sealant or a hybrid ceramic wax. For someone who is short on time, they may want to make use of a spray wax where they can get protection on the paint very quickly.

Additionally, Meguiar’s chemists are always working toward making the very best product(s). Over time, formulas are refined, technology advances and we are able to make newer and better products.

We always want new products that are easier to work with, last longer & leverage the latest technology. However, there may be a product with older chemistry that has a good following and it continues to remain popular in the market as a result. In the end it continues to be produced as it’s a quality product that works well & fills a niche in the market i.e., Carnauba waxes.

For swirl removal, Ultimate Compound is highly recommended as it safely removes swirls and imperfections. This can be applied by hand using an Even Coat Microfiber Applicator Pad or with the MT320 Dual Action Machine Polisher, Rotary Foam Cutting Pad 7” (WRFC7), and Rotary Foam Finishing Pad 7” (WRFF7).

The Meguiar’s Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel (X2020EU) is an incredibly plush microfiber towel that produces swirl free, mirror-like results. The thick, deep dual-sided microfiber pile absorbs two times more than traditional terry towels providing faster wipe off with less strokes.

Most swirl marks are inflicted in the washing process. 2 buckets allow you to split dirty water and shampoo solution.

Bucket 1: Water & Shampoo solution and Bucket 2: Grit Guard Insert and half filled with lukewarm water. Using bucket 1 to prime your wash mitt, wash an area of the car, then rinse your wash mitt in bucket 2 making sure to rub against the Grit Guard to dislodge any grit from your mitt. Then you are taking a clean mitt back into bucket 1 and repeating the cycle until the car is clean. NB: Work from top to bottom.

Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax has been designed to use during the wash process. The typical steps to follow while using this product include:

1. Wash your car with any Meguiar’s car wash, following the directions on the label.
2. Rinse the vehicle thoroughly to remove all wash soap & residue.
3. With the vehicle still wet, apply only 2-3 light sprays per panel of Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax over all exterior surfaces. NB: Overuse can lead to streaking. Hybrid Ceramic Wax is not like conventional waxes- a little goes a long way.
4. a) Initial Application: After lightly spraying Hybrid Ceramic Wax onto the wet surface, simply towel dry with a quality microfiber drying towel like Meguiar’s Water Magnet. This initial “wax as you dry” step establishes a foundational layer of protection and beading that will be enhanced with subsequent applications. b) Subsequent Applications: Apply 2-3 light sprays per panel onto the wet surface, then rinse with a strong spray of water starting with the roof and rinsing down. This second rinse will spread the product, coating all exterior surfaces with Hybrid Ceramic Wax protection.
5. Dry the vehicle with Meguiar’s Water Magnet. Larger vehicles may benefit by treating one section at a time.

Traditional spray waxes are applied like a quick detailer, spray on and wipe off but lack the durability of the Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax.
